A residence built around a sculptural curved drum that turns its perforated face to the sun and the garden.
Reef House grows from the proportion of its courts and the path of light across the day. A curved, perforated drum anchors the upper floor — a screen of square apertures that softens the southern sun and casts a shifting grid across the marble below.
Brick, teak, stone and marble are chosen to serve that geometry rather than set it: a brick pier grounds the cantilevers, timber fins veil the verandahs, and a sculptural stair coils up beneath a carved oculus at the heart of the foyer.
